The feverish pecking of a keyboard can be heard daily at the desk of Kristin Walker, Paperkite’s writer extraordinaire. Kristin joined the Paperkite team in February 2018 and contributes her fantastic copywriting talents to a variety of client projects – everything from social media posts and emails to radio scripts and long-form brochure copy, just to name a few. Characters, words and sentences are the paints she uses on her canvas of creativity. When it comes to finding her inspiration, Kristin says,

“I’m always impressed by writing that leaves room for the reader’s imagination, without a lot of extraneous description.”

Kristin earned her undergraduate degree in English from SUNY Geneseo and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Emerson College in Boston. Growing up, she loved reading books and writing her own stories. She even aspires to be a published writer someday (and everyone at PK has full faith that she’ll do it!).

We’re thrilled to have Kristin’s sunny attitude and extraordinary writing talent right here at Paperkite! Here are a few other fun facts about Kristin, in her own words:

What is your favorite thing about working at Paperkite?

The people! I feel very fortunate to work with such an amazing group of creative and supportive women.

What is your favorite activity to get your creativity going?

Does drinking coffee count as an activity? 🙂 I find that taking a walk is always helpful if I’m stuck creatively. Listening to music helps, too.

Favorite place to travel?

My first trip abroad was my honeymoon to Ireland almost 18 years ago. While I’ve been fortunate to travel other places since then that trip definitely ranks high on my list favorite places. Driving across Ireland was an interesting way to experience the cities, small villages, and landscape of the country.

Favorite place in Cooperstown?

I love Glimmerglass State Park in the summertime. I’m not much of a beach person, but there’s lots of shady spots to settle down with a good book. And Otsego Lake is always picturesque.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

There’s no single, magical piece of advice that I can think of! I’m very much an introvert, so reminding myself to get out of my own head is necessary from time to time.
